KuVS Summer School on IoBNT

After a long break, a KuVS Summer School for young scientists will take place again for the first time in 2024. The topic will be the “Internet of Bio-Nano-Things” (IoBNT). The IoBNT represents a groundbreaking interface between biotechnology, nanotechnology and information and communication technologies. In this emerging discipline, biological and nanoscale components are designed to communicate with the Internet, creating incredible opportunities in areas such as medicine, environmental protection and industrial processes . By leveraging biological processes at the molecular level, IoBNT systems can be used, for example, in medicine for targeted drug delivery or to monitor health conditions. At the same time, they enable precise collection and analysis of data at a microscopic level in environmental monitoring. This innovative fusion of bio- and nanotechnology with the Internet opens up a wide range of applications that both improve the efficiency of existing processes and offer completely new approaches to solutions in science and technology.

The three-day IoBNT Summer School offers inspiring lectures from leading experts, practical exercises with simulators and interactive discussion sessions that will give participants a deep understanding of the integration of biological and nanotechnological elements into the Internet. Over three days, the latest developments, applications and challenges in this exciting interdisciplinary field will be explored, comprehensively examining both theoretical principles and practical application examples.

The participant fee is expected to be between 350 and 400 euros (to be determined soon in Q1 2024). It covers participation in all sessions of the summer school as well as the social event. Lunch, dinner and meals during coffee breaks are also included. We will reserve a number of rooms in the hotel for overnight stays, which can be booked under the keyword "IoBNT Summer School" at a price of 139 euros per night including breakfast.
